Dairy Free, Gluten Free, Nutritional Yeast Free Delicious Cheese That You Can Make A Sanwdich With Or Melt On A Pizza Crust!

So simple to make and tastes delicious. Thank you! – Tati Aralova.
Recently I found a cheese recipe book with a guide on how to make a plant based cheese on The Hidden Veggies website and since all cheeses there were made with nutritional yeast (something that I avoid in my diet, because it contains MSG) I decided to try to make my own cheese following that guide!
So this is what I came up with, hope you’ll enjoy the recipe! The result reminds me of Violife cheese, but without nasty ingredients, like "flavourings", which is also a hidden source of MSG. This cheese is good for sandwiches or, if you add tapioca starch, you can use it for pizza or wraps and it will melt. And while it’s definitely not an everyday food, you can make it occasionally as a treat or for picnics or special occasions.
Plant Cheese For Sandwiches Or Pizza

1 can full fat coconut milk or cream
2 tb.s. agar-agar powder
1 tb.s. lemon juice
1 t.s. sea salt
1 t.s onion powder
1/2 t.s. garlic powder
1/4 t.s. paprika
1/4 t.s. ground nutmeg
Curcumin powder to desired colour
2 tb.s. tapioca starch (optional, if you want to melt your cheese later)
1/2 cup hot water
Directions:
Add 2 tb.s. of coconut milk to a cup and the rest to a small saucepan. Add sea salt, onion and garlic powders, paprika, nutmeg, curcumin and tapioca starch (if using) to a cup with coconut milk. Mix until well combined together.
Add agar-agar powder to a saucepan with coconut milk and mix.
Add coconut milk and spices from the cup and hot water to the saucepan and mix well.
Boil everything for 6 minutes, stirring frequently.
Immediately transfer the cheese mix to a mould of your choice.
Let it cool and then place in the fridge overnight.
Remove from the mould and slice or grate for a pizza.
Can be stored in the fridge for 5-7 days.
